Also make sure to eat a lot of calcium-rich foods, nuts, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Your body will need all of these nutrients to function properly.

If you eat small meals, it's even easier to avoid overeating because you'll be filling up on small amounts of food instead of eating large portions of unhealthy foods or greasy foods. One way to help ease into a healthy diet is to drink lots of water and herbal teas with a tiny bit of honey added. Water fills you up and most herbal teas are full of antioxidants that help your body get rid of toxins. These same herbs help babies stay hydrated as well so they have fewer empty calories when they wake up in the morning.



One way to balance your diet is to make sure your baby has balanced food choices. Look for food choices such as fruits, vegetables, cereal, low-fat yogurt and wheat germ. Foods that are high in calories should be avoided like cookies, potato chips, candy bars and frozen dinners. All of these foods are high in empty calories that will add to your baby's empty calorie count. Also, foods that are rich in protein can be added like lean meats, chicken, fish and egg whites.

Another way to balance your dietary changes is to make healthy food choices when you're shopping for your baby. This doesn't mean you have to give up your favorite foods, just find foods that are high in nutrition without all of the extra calories. For example, there are many vegetable smoothies that taste great and are easy to make. You may also want to look for fruit and grain-free options. Many store-bought products contain some sort of gluten which can be harmful to the foetal child.

It's also important to get enough rest during your pregnancy. A pregnant woman needs to get enough rest to recharge her baby. A woman who gets enough rest is less likely to develop health problems in her child as she would if she didn't get enough rest.
